Entering the Western artist market three years ago Sarah Anderson is already a widely collected artist specializing in finely detailed drawings of livestock and wildlife. Born and raised in Wyoming, she had an early love for the family’s horses and drawing. When she was six years old, the family moved and had to sell their horses. She said she was devastated, but “My drawings became my horses”. Happily at age twelve other horses came into and remain a part of her life today.
Influenced by her desire to ‘capture that one moment in time with the animal’, she succeeds by using pencil and pastel pencil with accuracy and imagination. With her deep affinity for animals and her meticulous art work, the imagery comes alive. Self-taught, she said “I love to share my God given talent with others.”
Her career includes teaching art workshops, winning numerous Juried Exhibitions and art shows. There is no doubt that, for her, living on a ranch in Wyoming is a continuing source of inspiration. Her ongoing goal is to develop unique and evocative works of art that represents who she is as an artist.
