2025 Calls For Art
Wyoming Wilderness
May 2025
Wyoming's Wilderness is vast and rugged, beautiful and in many places, untamed. Whether working en Plein Air while battling the elements, or capturing the perfect mugshot of your favorite furry critters, this exhibition strives to capture the essence of living in Wyoming amongst the wild things. Whether through abstraction, realism, mixed media, or other forms, we encourage artists to explore themes of conservation, the sublime, the quiet majesty of the land, and the human experience in relation to the wilderness. Artworks in any medium, both 2D and 3D, will be considered for this exhibition. “Wyoming Wilderness” challenges artists to reflect on our environment, wildlife, and shifting landscapes of Wyoming.

Excursions Juried Exhibition
August 2025
Excursions celebrates the adventurous spirit of an inquisitive traveler. From bustling street scenes and sun-soaked coastlines to quiet forest trails and winding train rides, this exhibition seeks to evoke the sights, sounds, and textures of travel.
The word Excursions brings to mind visiting the vineyards in France, the ancient ruins in South America, the fiords of New Zealand, or the buffalo in Yellowstone. Was the excursion exciting, frustrating, or life altering? Was it a shock to experience the fast setting of the sun when at the equator? Did everyone in the family cry many times while seeing a show on Broadway?
Maybe a wonderful excursion happens close to home. There are many ways that we are exposed to new tastes, different perspective, and magical beauty. Have you met fun folks in a cooking club? What did your grandchildren think of the water park? Have you found new friends that are delightfully kind, funny, and unpretentious?
AVA Community Art Center in Gillette, WY invites artists to submit three (3) artworks for consideration in the Excursions Exhibition. The exhibition will feature up to thirty (30) individual artworks, based on juror selections. Awards for Best In Show, Second Place and Third Place are to be allocated based on a juried selection process. Additionally, one (1) People’s Choice award will be selected based on public votes and winners will be announced during a public Artists’ Reception.
