Colorist Paint Out
A Plein Air Workshop with Danna Hildebrand
"The first hour and a half of the early morning presents a renewed, fresh landscape and a beautiful light that is unbelievably stunning. In this overwhelming sensory experience, I try to paint the view before me. The whole activity seems magical. I paint "en plein air", on location, as painters have done for hundreds of years, making a painting out of many particular moments in nature. I simply want to paint what I see."
AVA is delighted to host long-time Wyoming resident and art instructor, Danna Hildebrand. Danna will lead a four day plein air (outdoor, on site) workshop. This workshop will emphasize design, brush techniques, color in the landscape, and color mixing unique to the view.
Danna received her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wyoming and is a graduate of Montana State University and Sheridan College. She taught as a full-time professor at Sheridan College for 26 years. She has an extensive exhibition record of national and regional shows including the Wyoming State Museum, Nicolaysen Art Museum, The Brinton Museum, Ucross Foundation Art Gallery, and a residency at the Loveland Museum Gallery in Loveland, Colorado. After her retirement from Sheridan College, Danna moved to Loveland, Colorado and is currently a member of Plein Air Artists Colorado and American Women Artists (AWA).
