Saggar Firing, An alternative firing technique Workshop with Will Lopez, Thursday, April 8th and 15th, 3:30-5:00pm
Enjoy a creative day out at AVA on Thursday, April 8th and 15th, 3:30-5:00, learning the first day's workshop, participants will create on the potter's wheel and learn to burnish a pot and as well as use underglaze applications and students will learn how to build a saggar kiln. On the second day of workshops students will learn about what kinds of clay can be used, different kinds of saggars, combustibles, firing process, and finishing the work. Students will need to bring 3 to 4 pieces of their own bisque fire work. Great way to experiment on pots and tiles.
