My first day in Los Angeles and LAPD officers took time from their busy day patrolling Skid Row to talk with me.
After a while they cautioned, “Be careful out here. This sh** is real.”
“I understand,” I replied.
And before driving away one officer said with a smile, “And welcome to L.A.”
I smiled back, and as they drove off I thought to myself, those are some badass cops.
