So you’ve been curious about oil painting—but maybe also slightly terrified of it? It’s got that fancy, mysterious, impossible vibe of the Renaissance Masters... but at its core, it’s just paint. Really good, slow-drying, buttery paint.
This four-week class is your soft, guided intro into the world of oils—no pressure, no art degree required. We’ll walk you through the whole thing: what tools you actually need (and what you really don’t), how to mix and layer like a pro, and how to understand color in a way that makes your paintings actually work. We’ll study light, form, texture, and the technicalities—but not in a “this is how you do it” way. More like, “Here’s what’s possible. Let’s try it.”
Each week builds on the last, giving you room to explore without feeling lost. You’ll start with basics and underpainting, move through color theory and layering, and finish with several small completed pieces—that feel like you, not just an assignment.
By the end, you won’t just have a painting. You’ll have a new skill, a better eye, and maybe a new favorite obsession.
