This collage workshop focuses on how to build strong compositions using layers, shape relationships, value structure, and rhythm. Students will explore paper textures, photographic elements, hand-painted components, and mixed media as we create dynamic, visually cohesive works.
You’ll learn how to balance contrast, guide the viewer’s eye, use negative space as a powerful tool, and construct imagery with both spontaneity and intentional design. Through guided exercises, students create compositions that emphasize visual impact and clarity.
Leave with one or more finished collage pieces and a deeper understanding of how composition drives meaning and emotion in any medium.
