Explore the concept of duality through the fusion of a new material epoxy clay and fiber in this concept-driven mixed media class. Students will investigate contrasts such as soft versus structured, organic versus constructed, and tension versus flow while designing sculptural works that combine durable armatures with tactile fiber elements. The class covers epoxy clay application, armature building, material integration, and surface development, alongside guided ideation and sketching exercises. Emphasis is placed on texture, balance, and symbolic storytelling as students push beyond traditional sculpture to create layered, expressive pieces that merge strength and softness in unexpected ways.
