The character creation workshop would teach participants the principles of character design. Those attending could bring in pre-existing work to be refined or create entirely new characters during the two sessions, with one-on-one direction. Together we will identify the purpose that the character serves both functionally and aesthetically, taking into account the character's world, occupation, moral alignment, time period, etc.
The main focus of the lesson will be visual communication, following the phrase "The viewer should know what story you are telling without you having to write a single word." A few of the topics covered in the session will be shape language, color theory, silhouette, proportion, exaggeration, and character acting. Additionally, encouraging designs that are original and relatable.
