June 2022

In visual arts, mixed media describes artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed. Assemblages, collages, and sculpture are three common examples of art using different media. Materials used to create mixed media art include, but are not limited to, paint, cloth, paper, wood and found objects. [1]

Submissions implementing two or more mediums within the total composition will be considered for this show, including textile, ceramics, metalwork, woodwork, paper collage, found object, organic material, paint, graphite, charcoal and other traditional materials.

Maximum dimensions of 48" in any direction. Any two dimension (2D) or three dimension (3D) artworks in any medium created since Jan 2018 are eligible for submission.
All work must be original. Artworks may be submitted that are not in traditional frames; however, framed work is also acceptable. Inventory Sheets and W-9s can be provided by AVA via email or in-person upon request and must be completed at time of delivery.

Less is More
August 2022

In this Juried Exhibition, artists are asked to consider simplicity of form, line, and color. How can a smaller number of elements amount to a higher quality result? Artworks in 2D or 3D of any scale, in any medium, representational or abstract, are eligible for inclusion in this exhibit. The artist is being asked to say more by using fewer parts.

AVA invites artists to submit three (3) artworks for consideration in the Less is More Exhibition. The exhibition will feature twenty-seven (27) individual artworks. Awards for Best In Show, Second Place and Third Place are to be allocated based on a juried selection process. All submissions will be considered by a guest Juror, more details to be announced soon! Additionally, one (1) People’s Choice award will be selected based on public votes and announced during the Artists’ Reception.

Best In Show - $500.00
Second Place - $250.00
Third Place - $150.00
People’s Choice - $100.00
