Stephanie Mummert
Dancing between realism and impressionism, oil and mixed media, Mummert looks for the narrative behind the
scene in her paintings. She searches for emotion in her references and every brush stroke is an attempt at
revealing that which touches her heart. A memory. A story. A lesson. A praise.
"I don't settle for one subject category, but rather paint what moves me. I am blessed in that I have roots on
either side of the country and access to two different banks of memories and two totally different ways of life. As
was my journey across the country, my painting is also a constant quest for what is real and raw, whether it be
the landscape or life in general."
