COLORIST PAINT OUT: A Plein Air Workshop with DANNA HILDEBRAND. August 17-20th, 8 am to 2 pm daily

Join AVA and artist Danna Hildebrand August 17th through the 20th for a four day plein air (outdoor, on location) workshop emphasizing design, brush techniques, color in the landscape, and color mixing unique to the view. This workshop is open to all skill levels.

For the first two days of the workshop, participants will visit various locations within Gillette and the general proximity. Days three and four will be on site at the Kara Creek Ranch, which is approximately an hour east of Gillette outside Sundance, WY. Participants have the option to stay overnight at the ranch the evening of August 19th, but spaces are limited. Those accommodations can be made on the Kara Creek website here: https://www.karacreekranch.com/en/

Workshop attendees should plan to pack a lunch each day, appropriate clothing and footwear options, and bring plenty of water. Students will also need to provide the following supplies:

*Easel with Paint Box for Plein Air and a portable chair

*Plein Air Umbrella

*Small drawing pad (approximately 4”x6”)

*Pencil and eraser

*Odorless turpentine or Gamsol paint thinner, with leak proof turp can for travel.

*Paper-towels and plastic bag for trash.

*Palette knife

*Brushes, #2-#8, Bristle or blend and a detail brush.

*Panels, 8 - 6X8 or 9X12 for 2 days, 4-11X14 or 12X16 for final 2 days

Paints, Oils

Cadmium Yellow Lemon, Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Orange, Yellow Ochre, Viridian, Cadmium Red Light, Alizarin, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White (Large tube)
